Introducing "CIKGU SIR"

when I was 4 years old
Ever wondered why this site is called “CIKGU SIR”?

Here’s the story. “Cikgu” means teacher in Malay, and “Sir” is what most pupils in Malaysia call their male English teachers. Simple enough, right?

Well… not always. Back in my old school, another teacher asked one of my pupils, “Who teaches you English?”
With complete confidence, he replied: “Cikgu Sir!”

He honestly thought my name was Sir because that’s what everyone called me! From then on, the nickname just stuck.

And that’s how CIKGU SIR was born.
